We've Launched. Let's Celebrate!

Launching a business can be scary. However, planning the party to celebrate the new chapter is right in our wheelhouse! On Saturday, May 22nd, 2017 Kayla and I did just that with an official Back Patio Launch Party, marking the start of our own business in an industry that we absolutely love! We invited 50 of our closest friends and family to our own back patio in La Mesa, CA. This sunset party featuring the perfect weather, was our way of thanking those near and dear to us for their continued support of our dreams. In the end, the event was a complete success, however it took hard work and two of our favorite hobbies, planning and collaboration, to get us there!

Our first step, and our favorite collaborative moment, was preparing our inspiration boards for the party. Rich succulent and cactus greens, soft pinks, bright whites, navy accents and deep woods were at the forefront of our planning, honing tribute to our logo’s painted image. Our vision was a relaxed back patio desert fiesta, focusing on four core areas. Our welcome doors provided a warm entry followed by your first hello, greeted by Nicolette McManus of Grit & Vigor Media, guiding you to the Taco Bout Us photo wall, breaking the ice with a quick ‘strike a pose’! Guests then prepared their own beverage at the walk up bar and were guided to the fare by a bold and bright dessert table. All four areas were designed with simple florals, succulents, cactus and beautiful signage created by Sweet Caroline Calligraphy & Design.

Following theme and decor planning, we focused on the three most important aspects to any successful event: Food, Drink + Entertainment. Our walk up bar was a hit for everyone, offering a traditional margarita on ice and lemon infused water in mason jar dispensers and iced down Stone IPA’s and assorted Jarrito Mexican Sodas in pales. We partnered with Taco Man SD, offering adobada, chicken and carne asada tacos, cheese quesadillas, chips, salsa and fresh guacamole. Music, cornhole, horse shoes and a disc golf basket strategically placed at the entrance kept party-goers and the kiddos active and entertained as the sun began to set. To top off the night, your sweet tooth was delighted with Mexican hot chocolate cookies, snickerdoodles and assorted fruit.

In the end, we had a fabulous back patio desert fiesta alongside friends and family. We lit up the fire pit after sunset and the party cooled off. It was the perfect time to reflect on the blessing of a great community of supporters during this exciting new venture. We’d like to thank everyone who joined in our celebration, especially our event partners: Taco Man SD, Caroline Freiberg of Sweet Caroline Calligraphy & Design and Nicolette McManus of Grit & Vigor Media.
